The moment I picked up my phone, from Amy, regarding my services, I knew I had to be there for her wedding. We bonded immediately over our mutual love for BC and NB, which lead to the 1.5 hour long conversation we had on the phone… cackling, chatting, and literally reminiscing, like old friends. It was clear, we were instant friends, and I was so happy we decided to work together capturing their big day.
I first met Amy and Rob in BC, while I was back there shooting a wedding. I did their engagement photos under the glorious Rockies, and we were happy to be able to incorporate coast to coast photos, as their wedding was then held in NB a month later.
The day started off absolutely stress and worry free ( and continued that way for the remainder of the day ). It did not feel like I was there to “work”. It felt like I was there to support and laugh with friends and family! I felt like the whole family made me an honorary family member for the day, they were seriously that great! I always feel so grateful when I am so welcomed and accepted into people’s lives without a hitch. After the hair was done, we headed back to the bride’s mother’s home for some lunch, some beer, and some relaxation before the real excitement began! The weather was perfect. Not too warm, not too windy, not too sunny, it was just perfect. We did the majority of the photos before the ceremony at “Mom’s” house, then headed to the incredible sunset ceremony, followed by delicious food and more candy than you would know what to do with, at the reception.
Amy is so incredibly down to earth, fun, kind, loving, and is easily one of the happiest people I’ve ever met in my life. The amount of photos I took of her just full out belly laughing, is enough to make any looking through them, smile from ear to ear. She literally brings such joy to everyone around her ( including me! ) and it’s so easy to see how Rob could have been attracted to such a wonderful spirit! Rob was probably the most easy going groom I’ve ever had to work with. He was encouraging, supportive, and just there to marry the love of his life. He didn’t blink an eye when I asked him to hold hands with his groomsmen, he went along with Amy and I’s brilliant idea to get into a canoe…pre wedding ( Ya…it happened ), and he smiled non stop throughout the entire day. These two are so clearly meant for each other. Not only are they husband and wife, they are best friends. I am so happy I was there for Amy and Rob, and I hope to continue to be there as I watch their family grow throughout the years!
Thanks again you two! I wish you both the happiest life together!
