When I first announced I was going to start doing boudoir again last year, I was pretty nervous. I was filled with questions of if I still had it, will I have the same success I did with it when I was back east, do woman still want these types of photos done, etc etc. I hosted three marathons last year, and two sold out. Which I was pretty ecstatic about. It truthfully is one of my favourite types of sessions.
I met Shalin through my makeup artist and my goodness am I so lucky she was the very first woman I got the pleasure of shooting on the very first marathon last January. She is drop dead gorgeous and those who know me know I was a sucker for anyone tattooed. Seriously, bring me all the tattooed babes please! I consider myself successful in boudoir when women leave feeling better about themselves then when they first arrived, when they tell me how comfortable they felt, how it was such an empowering experience, and when they come back for a second boudoir session, usually a year later, sometimes two years later. But, I had Shalin in front of my camera two more times last year!! LUCKY ME!! She hired me to come out to her apartment in beautiful Vancouver to photograph an at-home lifestyle session with her and her boyfriend, and then she was right back into shooting boudoir with me that summer. I’ve attached photos from both sets, because how could I not! Sadly, due to covid, I will be taking a break from close quarters sessions for now, but can’t wait for all my ideas to come to light the moment we are able to shoot it again! I just hope this beauty steps in front of my lens again!
